Celebrating Our Ninth!

Cathi and I celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary one day early last night with a very special evening at The American restaurant. Once seated at one of the prime tables by the window overlooking Crown Center and the fountains, we were presented with the evening's menu personalized for our occasion. After a glass of wine and the waiter's attempt to professionally answer Cathi's inquiry about the veal sweetbreads we made our selections. We started with the Pan Seared Scallops and the Sweet Corn Agnolotti. We then had the Green Bean salad. Our entrees were the Maine Lobster and the Pan Seared Opah. We were then presented with a dessert before our dessert, a Sasparilla Pot de Creme. Then on to the dessert, Frozen Carrot Cake. After dessert we were presented with a tray of cookies to finish the meal. Executive Chef, Debbie Gold, stopped by the table to wish us a happy anniversary and sign our menu. It was a wonderful way to celebrate!

KCIF

We set up the O'Malley's booth again this year at the Kansas City Irish Fest at Crown Center over Labor Day weekend. Quinn joined us at the booth Saturday afternoon. His buddy Van joined him later for an evening of lively tunes. They eventually fabricated a stage out of the empty pepsi crates and positioned it in front of the O'Malley's microbus. It did not take too long before his fiddle case was full of tips and needed to be emptied and put away for safe keeping. Passersby were quite impressed with the show. A professional photographer stopped by and snapped the closeup shots of Quinn and was also quite impressed. Both musicians returned on Sunday to enjoy the kid's area and jump around in the inflatables. They also got a bit of inspiration listening to some new bands before returning to their own stage to wrap up the event.

Q at the K

Quinn and Sean enjoyed the afternoon at Kauffman Stadium on Sunday, August 24th. The KC Royals defeated the Detroit Tigers 7-3. The tickets and concessions were a birthday gift from Anne and John and are very much appreciated. The weather was perfect and we both had a great time.
